DOH detects 5 new Omicron subvariant in W.Visayas

The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed on May 31 that 5 new cases of the Omicron subvariant BA.2.12.1 were detected in Western Visayas.

DOH – Health Promotion Bureau Director Beverly Ho in an online media briefing said 3 of the cases are returning overseas Filipinos from the United States of America, while the other 2 are local cases.

All patients according to the health department are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and are considered recovered.

The DOH regional office in Western Visayas said all confirmed cases were from Iloilo City and not one is from Negros Island.
