DILG-Bacolod hires adt’l contact tracers

A total of 118 contact tracers were hired by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to further expand and strengthen contact tracing effort.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia who personally met the contact tracers yesterday said: “contact-tracing is the heart of the Emergency Operations Center and is a big help in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.”

This is the second batch of contact tracers hired by the DILG-Bacolod in addition to the 89 contact tracers that were previously hired.

During the orientation, the importance and correct methods of obtaining information from COVID-19 patients and contacting them were explained.

Joining the orientation are IATF- Visayas chief implementer Major General (Retired) Mel Feliciano, nurse-consultant Mia Feliciano, World Health Organization (WHO)-Philippines consultant Dr. Ralph Nico Selibio, Contact Tracing cluster heads Dr. Rosalie Deocampo and Police Major Sherlock Gabana, and EOC deputies for medical Dr. Chris Sorongon and Dr. Anna Maria Laarni Pornan.
