DepEd received P12.8M assistance from Capitol

The provincial government of Negros Occidental through Gov. Eugenio Lacson has turned over checks amounting P12,808,000 to DepEd – Division of Negros Occidental for various education programs.

The checks were received by Schools Division Superintendent, Marsette Sabbaluca, at the Provincial Capitol on May 19.

According to Capitol, the big chunk of the financial assistance will be for the operation, salaries and wages of non-teaching personnel and scholars of Negros Occ. Science High School which amounts to P4.4M and P5M will be used for the various projects of Negros Occidental High School.

Meanwhile, P300,000 will be used to support the secondary school student athletes who will participate in the Provincial Qualifying Sports Competition; P3,080,000 will be for the Literacy Development, Alternative Learning System (ALS), and SPED Literacy teachers.

The checks were turned over in the presence of Caren Moscoso, ALS Education Program Specialist, Milagros Abanales, Assistant Principal of NOHS, Rebonie Emboltorio, Senior Education Program Specialist, and Emma Dequito, Negros Occ. Science High School principal, among others.
