Delta variant in Riverside hopsital fake news according to EOC

Bacolod City, Negros Occidental— The Bacolod Emergency Operations Center categorically denied an allegation that a COVID-19 patient who was hit by the Delta variant is currently being treated in a private hospital in this city.

According to City Administrator Em Ang who also chairs the EOC, the post which first circulated is a fake news.

Ang reminded the public to refrain from
posting, sharing, spreading false, unverified,
reports that may cause panic and confusion.

The Riverside Medical Center which was mentioned on the post said that no COVID-19 Delta Variant within their hospital as of August 8.

Riverside also reiterated Ang’s previous advised for the public to refrain from sharing or spreading unverified reports that may cause the public to panic.

It asked the public to also verify news sources and to rely only on trusted sites such as the official social media page of Riverside, the Bacolod Public Information Office, and the Department of Health.

With the increasing number of Delta variant in the region the management of Riverside continue to remind the public to take all precautions as it re-assure the public of the health and safety protocol being observed by its hospital.
