#SanaAll. This is the reaction of most netizens in Bacolod after congratulatory messages flooded on social media for couple Dr. Patrick Joseph Mabugat and Dr. Dyan Dimalaluan for passing the 2020 Physician Licensure Exam.

The college couple took the licensure exam recently with Dr. Patrick landing as second placer with a score of 88.58%, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Thursday, November 26.

Dr. Patrick, a provincial government scholar, also topped the Medical Technology licensure exam when he took it in 2014.

His fiancée, now Dr. Dyan Dimalaluan, was his partner in unlocking his dreams. Mabugat and Dimalaluan are among the 45 passers from the University of St. La Salle, the university confirmed.

The 26-year-old couple for more than 8 years  took up Medical Technology as their prep for the rigors of medical school. Both finished at the University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos.

In her 2019 Facebook post after graduating from the med school, Dr. Dyan happily post: “From classmates, to friends, to frenemies, to lunchmates, to boyfriend/girlfriend, to fiancé/fiancée. From medical technologists to medical doctors. 8 years of having each other’s backs through the highs and the lows. To more years of achieving our goals. I love you very much!”

Dr. Dyan graduated Cum Laude in 2014 and was 4th Honorable Mention when she completed her Doctor of Medicine. Meanwhile, Dr. Patrick finished medicine as Class Valedictorian.

Dr. Patrick who finished his grade school and high school at La Consolacion College- Bacolod also earned praises from his former school.

Dr. Patrick had been a consistent honor student back then, LCC said in a statement.

The school also described him as a multi-awarded student leader and representative of the school in various academic competitions.

The couple are now back in Bacolod and Dr. Patrick plan to have his residency in Bacolod. He plans to  specialize in internal medicine or general surgery.
