The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is set to establish an airbase in Negros Occidental after the successful signing of the deed of usufruct between PCG District Western Visayas Deputy Commander, CG Captain Ludovico Librilla (DSC) and donor, Mr. Manuel Lamata, yesterday, September 23.

Mr. Lamata offered an approximately 30,000-square-meter parcel of his land located at Barangay Luna, Cadiz, Negros Occidental for the said infrastructure project necessary for the delivery of Coast Guard service through aerial assets in the Western Visayas region.

“The airbase will allow the PCG to conduct aircraft landing, refueling, and restocking of materials for logistical missions, such as search and rescue (SAR) operations, reconnaissance, aerial surveys, and aerial domain awareness,” CG Captain Librilla said

“Thus, we are grateful to Mr. Lamata for donating a portion of his lot in support of the PCG’s mission to serve the nation with patriotism, compassion, and fear of God,” he furthered.
