Close to 200k join Leni-Kiko political rally in Negros Occ

Nearly 200,000 joined the political rally of presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo and vice presidential candidate Sen. Kiko Pangilinan that was held in various towns and cities in the province and culminated at the Paglaum Sports Complex in Bacolod City on March 11.

Crowd cheers as VP Leni appeared on stage at the Paglaum Sports Complex, the venue for her grand political rally.

Despite the possibility of rain owing to severe rain that flooded several parts of the city two nights before the rally, at least 70,000 people showed up at the Paglaum Sports Complex to show their support for Robredo and her party.

Aside from the 70,000 crowd estimate in Bacolod, Cadiz Mayor Salvador Escalante said that at least 20,000 crowd also joined Robredo in Sagay City. Rally coordinators in San Carlos, Kabankalan and La Carlota cities said at least 38,000 gathered in the 3 key cities to show their support to Robredo. Another 4,000 crowd were seen in the towns of Binalbagan and Hinigaran.

When Robredo delivered her speech at the Paglaum Sports Complex, its Facebook live stream also generated over 60,000 real-time views, bringing the total number of supporters on-ground and online to over 190,000.

The official Youtube channel of Robredo also generated over 183,000 views as of March 14. It is so far the most viewed people’s rally that was streamed on Robredo’s channel.

Robredo who won by a wide margin for vice president in Negros Occidental in 2016 told the Negrense crowd to prove to all that power is in the hands of the ordinary Negrenses.

“If we show our love of county by voting right, we will show to them that the power is with us,” she said.
