CENECO lineman electrocuted; killed

A lineman was killed after being electrocuted while fixing the power lines in Hacienda Sta. Maria 1, Brgy. Zone 15, Talisay City, Sunday afternoon, February 7.

In its Facebook post, Central Negros Electric Cooperative identified the fatality as 25-year-old Regie Austria, a resident of EB Magalona town and was assigned at CENECO Talisay Field Office. Austria will turn 26 a month and half from today.

According to CENECO General Manager Atty. Dan Pondevilla, Austria responded to a reported power outage in the area and while fixing the electrical insulator, he accidentally touched an illegally connected live wire that resulted in his electrocution and loss of life.

A tribute to a fallen warrior of light.

The management of CENECO expresses their deepest condolence to the family of its “warrior of light”. It an FB post it said: “Salute to our very young lineman who lost his life while on duty, working on the lines, providing relentless service to give light to our Member-Consumer-Owners.”
