Passengers of Cebu Pacific with scheduled flights between today, January 1 up until the midnight of January 3 are advised to voluntarily postpone their travel due to flight disruption that occured at Manila airport.

Twelve hours after the country rang in the year 2023, at least 25 arrivals and departures at Bacolod-Silay Airport were delayed due to technical issues with the Philippine air traffic control system.

In its advisory, the low-cost airline said passengers may avail for rebooking or travel fund as the Manila airport recovered from the delays.

The airline added that for those requiring urgent travel, seats are also limited due to the peak travel period.

Meanwhile, flag-carrier Philippine Airline said it is taking all necessary steps to restore normal schedule.

According to data from flightstats.com at least 13 flights that were scheduled to land at Bacolod-Silay Airport today were canceled as of 6:30PM.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) confirmed on its Facebook post that flights across the country were canceled due to technical issues facing the air traffic management system of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).This includes international flights arriving and departing from the country’s main airport.

But as of 4PM today, the system has been partially restored thereby allowing limited flight operations, MIAA said in an advisory. The glitch which affected the entire Philippines is a developing situation that is continuously being monitored by MIAA and the AOC, it added.
