Capitol signs MOA for transfer of hospital management to 2 LGUs

A signing of Memorandum of Agreement between the local government of Escalante and Calatrava was held yesterday, March 1, to formalize the planned transfer of the use, operation, and management of provincial government-run hospitals, Vicente Gustilo District Hospital and Calatrava District Hospital, under the care of the said LGUs.

The signing was held at the Negros Residences in Bacolod City with Gov. Eugenio Lacson, Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, together with Mayors Melecio Yap, Jr. of Escalante and Marilyn Era of Calatrava.

Gov. Lacson said he is confident that the LGUs are capable to manage the said hospitals and assured that the provincial government will be always be available to guide them.

According to Gov. Lacson, series of consultations and meetings were conducted before the turn over of hospital management from the province to the LGUs, and both LGUs have signified their preparedness in handling the provincial government-run hospitals.

Both mayors said that they accept the challenge and will be doing their best as they want to serve more people who needs medical assistance.

Also present in the signing were First District Board Members Araceli Somosa and Rommel Debulgado, and Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, among others.
