The provincial government of Negros Occidental inaugurated a new dialysis facility within the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City yesterday, December 13, as part of its additional medical services to the Negrense.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, who turned 63 yesterday, led the blessing and inauguration together with Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, TLJPH Hospital Chief Dr. Mary Ann Maestral, and Hospital Operations Department Head Dr. Girlie Pinongan.

According to Capitol, 15 dialysis machines have been allocated to TLJPH to assist patients seeking dialysis treatment.

Aside from this new service, the Department of Health (DOH) has also upgraded the provincial hospital to a level 2 facility, granting it permission to operate an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a neo-natal ICU for newborns and high-risk pregnancy units for pregnant women.

Next to get upgrades are the hospitals in Cadiz and Kabankalan cities.
