Man desecrates Binalbagan parish while mass is ongoing


The San Isidro Parish in Binalbagan town was vandalized this morning, April 3,  damaging several statues.

The San Isidro Parish said the incident which occured while a mass is ongoing resulted to damages on several statues  including those of St. Joseph, San Isidro Labrador, the Immaculate Conception, and two angels.

The tabernacle was also damaged, the parish said in a Facebook post.

Reports said that a man barged into the church with his tricycle and smashed the sacred images. The suspect is now under the police custody.

Following this incident, the church will remain closed after funeral masses this afternoon, the church said in a statement.

The extent of the damage and the timeline for repairs are not yet known.
