In a show of commitment to public safety, Mayor Nicholas Yulo and Vice Mayor Ramon Torres today, January 23, presented Bago City Police Station with P4.55 million worth of firearms, ammunition, and essential equipment.

The arsenal includes eight assault rifles, 13,000 rounds of ammunition, diverse ammunition components, a reloading set, eight tactical vests and helmets, hard plates, a ballistic shield, swat uniforms, boots, and even a battering ram. This comprehensive package specifically targets the needs of the newly-formed Bago City Police Station SWAT team, ensuring they are well-equipped for any scenario.

The impressive haul was received by Police Lieutenant Colonel Jay Malong at the Mayor’s Office.

Yulo expressed optimism, stating, “This investment is a direct reflection of our unwavering dedication to peace and order within Bago City. We believe these resources will prove invaluable in our officers’ ongoing efforts to safeguard our community.”

Lt. Col. Malong echoed the sentiment, acknowledging the impact of such support. “The city government’s commitment goes beyond providing tools; it’s a significant morale boost for our personnel, reminding us of the critical role we play in ensuring the safety of every resident.”

Other officials, including Councilors Ma. Josefa Matti, Jake Patrick Torres, and Joseph Colmenares, along with ABC President Jovito Gahaton and General Services Officer Engr. Leo Pahilanga, also witnessed the momentous handover. This collaborative approach reinforces the united front Bago City presents in its fight for a safer future.
