Bago City Mayor Nicholas Yulo has ordered a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a newborn at Bago City Hospital, following serious allegations of negligence and mishandling by the baby’s family.

The family’s public outcry, shared extensively on social media, has prompted the mayor’s directive.

In an FB post, Patrick Saylo, the father of the newborn alleged that the hospital staff failed to provide proper care, leading to the tragic loss of their child. In a post he accused the hospital: “Ginpatay niyo akon bata tungod sa sala niyo nga pqghandle.”

He further alleged that the hospital refused to perform a timely cesarean section, despite her wife’s critical condition and repeated requests.

He narrated that his wife was admitted at 11 a.m. and already 8 centimeters dilated, requested a C-section at 7 p.m. due to unbearable pain, a request he claimed that was ignored.

He also alleged after a natural delivery at 11 p.m., their newborn was resuscitated and intubated without parental consent.

He further alleged that his wife suffered complications, including improperly performed stitching that caused significant bleeding.

Yulo’s order aims to establish a clear understanding of the events that transpired and to determine if any hospital protocols were violated. Yulo said the City Legal Office will lead the fact-finding team
