Bacolod police have taken a significant step towards solving the city’s gruesome dumping of bodies and body parts by forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Led by acting Bacolod police director PCol. Noel Aliño, the SIT comprises the commanders of the 10 Bacolod police stations and will meet weekly to discuss the progress of investigations and take further action if necessary.

The SIT will supervise the investigation of past and present crimes in Bacolod City.

Aliño said 10 tracker teams from each of the Bacolod police stations were created to solve crimes in their respective areas.

He added that a 24/7 police outpost has also been set up at the Bacolod economic highway where three bodies were recently found.

Aliño met with the police traffic enforcement unit and motor cops on Sunday, May 7, to ensure improved operations.
