The local government of Bacolod City is planning to clear the sidewalks in the city.
In a press conference at the Bacolod City Government Center on January 22, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said he wanted to make the sidewalks in Bacolod more conducive to walking.
Because of this, the city government will launch a road clearing operation against those who are occupying the streets that should be used by pedestrians.
Benitez said the proposal will also be tackled by the city council.
The city government will also designate roads or places where vehicles can be parked, but this may come with a fee, he added.
