The active COVID-19 cases in Bacolod continue to rise with a total of 187 fresh cases were recorded yesterday, January 17, the Department of Health in Region 6 said.
This brings the total active cases in the capital of Negros Occidental to 917, while the province has 1,365 active cases.
But the local Emergency Operations Center said most of the patients who tested positive are asymptomatic and mostly are on home isolation.
With the surge in cases, several estsblishments within the city had also enforced the “No Vaccination, No Entry”policy. Lopues East and Araneta meanwhile said that children below 12 years old will be allowed inside their store provided that they are accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult.
The Vallcar Transit, operator of Ceres Liner, said that it has also implemented the “No Vaccination, No Ride” policy for its passengers around the province. Meanwhile, passengers from Cebu province are required to present a negative swab test taken 72 hours before their scheduled travel.
