Bacolod has zero COVID-19 cases on Christmas day

The Emergency Operations Center reported zero cases of COVID-19 in Bacolod on Christmas Day.

City Administrator Em Ang in a Facebook post said: “Today, on the eve of Christmas, we are blessed with NO new COVID-19 cases. Truly, God is good to Bacolod.”

She also confirmed the lowest health care facility utilization rate ever at 17%, with only 70 active cases left.

Ang hopes for Bacoleños to continue to follow the minimum health standards of social distancing, wearing masks, and hand washing, for a COVID-free 2021.

Vaccine Council

Meanwhile, Mayor Evelio Leonardia has issued an executive order creating a Bacolod COVID-19 Vaccine Council to plan and supervised programs related to COVID-19 vaccination.

It shall also be tasked with the function of closely coordinating and Integrating with the National Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease, Department of Health, Department Of Budget and Management, the major Leagues of Local Government Officials, and Other government and non-government Instrumentalities in order to ensure that health and safety standards on the City Vaccination Program are observed at its highest standards.

The council is chaired by Leonardia, with Vice Mayor Elcid Familiaran as co-chair.
