The budget for the Bacolod General Hospital that was recently approved by Pres. Rodrigo Duterte now stands a little below a billion after Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri pledged to source an additional of P200 million.

Republic Act No. 11564 which is the core foundation for the establishment of the Bacolod City General Hospital has an initial appropriation of P600 million when it was approved by the president.

In a press statement issued by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, the mayor said Zubiri pledged to look for at least P200 million to augment the amount that was initially provided for in the bill.

The establishment of the Bacolod General Hospital was authored by Cong. Greg Gasataya through House Bill No. 6731.

Gasataya thanked Duterte for enacting the proposed measure which was supported by Zubiri and Senator Bong Go as sponsors in the Senate floor.

Once completed, the new hospital will be the second public tertiary hospital in the city and will offer services such as Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Emergency Services, and Outpatient Services.

It also provides Ancilliary and Support Services such as clinical laboratory, imaging facility, and pharmacy.

Facilities that may be included are physical medicine and rehabilitation unit, ambulatory surgical clinic, dialysis clinic, tertiary clinical laboratory with histopathology, a blood bank, and third-level X-ray.
