A continuing decline in active COVID-19 cases in the city was recorded by the City Health Department of Bacolod City, with only 12.99 percent, or a total of 595 out of 4,579, as of October 17.

Of these, 25 new cases were documented yesterday, Oct 17. The total recovery, meanwhile, rose to 3,868.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia officially requested the national Inter-Agency Task Force for COVID-19 to de-escalate the city’s quarantine status from Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) to GCQ with the continuing decline in active cases. But this appeal has yet to be approved by IAFT national.
