The city of Bacolod commemorated the National Flag Day in Rizal Park, today, May 28.

The event was led by the Department of Education Division of Bacolod City, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines—who led the parade of the Philippine National Flag—the NOHS brass band—who played the Philippine National Anthem—led by Dexter Acuña, and the Girl Scouts of the Philippines.

The President of the Liga ng mga Barangay, Councilor Lady Gles Gonzales-Pallen, and the Bacolod City Flag Day Coordinator, Peace and Order Security Office (POSO) Chief Ret. PBGen Primitivo Tabujara, Jr., also delivered messages during the event.

The event signals the display or flying of the National Flag from May 28 to June 12 in all private and public buildings, institutions, and even vehicles.

The flag is a symbol of the country’s independence and sovereignty. It is a national duty to respect and honor the flag.
