Bacolod caps peaceful CNY celebration with nearly 60,000 attendees

Bacolod City’s three-day Bacolaodiat Festival, which drew an estimated crowd of nearly 60,000, concluded peacefully on Sunday, February 2, with no major crime incidents reported.

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) describe the event as generally peaceful, stating that the festival proceeded without any significant incidents.

For the duration of the event, the BCPO has deployed uniformed personnel, force multipliers, and intelligence operatives to key festival areas, including the Yuan Thong Temple along Burgos Street, and the Lantern Street Dance and Cultural Competition and Emperor’s Market sites at the North Capitol Road and Lacson Street. The festivities primarily took place along 6th to 13th Lacson Streets, with the main festival site located at the North Capitol Road.

Additional security personnel were stationed in Bacolod malls, where pocket events were also held.

The Bacolaodiat Festival showcased traditional events, including cultural performances, the lantern street and arena dance competition, and an Asian food crawl, providing a rich and diverse experience for both locals and tourists.

Bacolaodiat 2025 celebrated the Year of the Snake, a symbol of wisdom, transformation, and renewal, also associated with good luck, prosperity, fertility, and longevity.
