The City of Bacolod will implement stricter measures to combat the spread of the COVID-19 new variant.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia said that starting January 9, incoming passengers coming from areas categorized under COVID-19 Alert Level 3 will be required to present negative swab result which must be obtained within 72 hours prior to arrival in the city.

The latest measure will be enforced regardless of the traveler’s vaccination status according to the executive order signed by Leonardia.

All government officials and public sector personnel will meanwhile be allowed unimpeded travel to the city regardless of the alert classifcation, but provided that they comply with the vaccination mandate. They will also be required to present a travel order.

But government workers entering the city ports and airports will only be allowed to proceed when they pass the symptom screening upon their arrival.
