Fernando Zobel de Ayala, along with other leaders from the Ayala group, visited Bacolod to show strong support for the We Are Ayala Business Club (WAABC) Negros launch, Friday, May 24.
Under Zobel’s leadership as Ayala Corporation CEO, WAABCs were revitalized to invigorate Ayala group’s business units and to further the collective well-being of stakeholders in various regions. Zobel, who currently sits on the boards of Ayala Corporation, BPI, and Ayala Land, and chairs the Ayala Foundation and AC Health, emphasized the importance of these regional visits.
“Ayala is here to build businesses that enable people to thrive,” Zobel underscored.”
“WAABC Negros is a crucial piece of this purpose,” he said, adding that he hopes to demonstrate Ayala’s continuing commitment to the region’s development.
“Negros is the fourth stop in our series of regional visits focusing on provinces and cities where Ayala group has a significant presence. We aim to engage with our partners, customers, valued clients, and local officials in each area,” Zobel added.
WAABC chapters are present in key business centers across the country, including Baguio, Central Luzon, Naga, Cebu, Negros, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao. These chapters strive to engage local stakeholders, enhance business unit synergies, and foster the Ayala group culture among employees.
Ayala’s diverse interests in the region are represented through various subsidiaries including Ayala Land, Inc., BPI, Globe Telecom, ACEN, AC Health, AC Mobility, and Ayala Foundation, Inc.
During their visit, Zobel and his team paid a courtesy call on Negros Occidental Governor Bong Lacson and Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez.
Additionally, they toured The Negros Museum, a cultural hub promoting the history and artistic heritage of the region.
