Gov. Eugenio Lacson issued today, January 6, Executive Order No. 21-61-A, Series of 2022, directing the Provincial Health Office to conduct Rapid Antigen Testing for incoming passengers at airports and seaports in the province starting tomorrow, January 7, up until January 9.
This as the provincial government heightens its safety measures to curb the possible increase of COVID-19 cases in the province.
Effective January 9, Capitol will also require a negative RT-PCR valid for 72 hours from the date of swab sample extraction for all travelers regardless of vaccination status. This is on top of the requirement for an approved S-Pass.
Like in the past, all Bacolod-bound passengers arriving in Silay Airport are not exempted from the requirements as the airport falls within the jurisdiction of the provincial government.
Lacson also ordered the reduction of flights between Manila and Bacolod to one flight per day per airline. Meanwhile, flights between Cebu and Bacolod shall be limited to 1 flight per airline per week.
Affected airlines are yet to issue their revised guidelines for passengers with confirmed bookings.
Sea travel between area classified under Alert Level 3 status shall be allowed but up to 50% of its passenger capacity only, the EO added.
As of today, the province recorded 40 new Covid-19 cases and one death.
