Six Bacolod City police officers were awarded Medals of Merit for their successful arrest of a drug suspect and confiscation of shabu worth 1.5 million pesos.
The officers were awarded by Police Regional 6 Acting Regional Director PBrig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor at the Regional Headquarters in Iloilo City on Monday, May 29.
The officers, who were from Police Station 8, are:
- PMaj. Jeory Puerto, Bacolod City police Intelligence Unit chief
- Sgt. Roberto Gaurana
- Sgt. Rommel Cometa
- Sgt. Jimedel Dellonardo
- Cpl. Ramon Alonte
- Cpl. Hary Utana
They were awarded for their significant accomplishments rendered in the performance of their respective duties and responsibilities, particularly in the successful arrest of John Mark Melana of Brgy. Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, on July 28 last year through a buy-bust operation.
During the operation, the officers confiscated 1.5 million pesos worth of suspected shabu.
“By this noteworthy achievements, the above-named police officers have earned credit and honor not only for themselves but also for the entire police organization,” the statement added.
