Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, continues to ramp up its domestic network to address rising travel demand, beginning with the increase of its Bacolod flights from twice to 9x weekly beginning today, November 15.

CEB will be operating a daily Manila-Bacolod flight via 5J 485, which is scheduled to depart the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 9:20AM. Its return flight, 5J 486 is set to leave the Bacolod Silay Airport at 11:15AM.

To help the inoculation initiatives of the Negros Occidental region, all fully-vaccinated passengers to and from Bacolod with pre-purchased baggage will be given a waiver for fees for 5kg excess baggage from November 15, 2021 to January 15, 2022. Passengers eligible for this must present their vaccination card or certificate at the CEB check-in counters.

“We express gratitude to the good office of Governor Eugenio Jose “Bong” Lacson for approving our request to add more flights to and from Bacolod. We are indeed very happy with this development as we believe these additional flights will contribute to the economic recovery not only of Negros Occidental but of Region VI as well,” said Michael Ivan Shau, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Cebu Pacific.

In support of the local government’s efforts to drive vaccination, two Manila-Bacolod out of the 9x weekly flights will be exclusively for fully-vaccinated passengers from November 16, 2021, until January 15, 2022. These flights will operate every Tuesday and Thursday via 5J 475, with a scheduled time of departure of 2:00PM.

CEB also operates a once-weekly flight between Cebu and Bacolod every Tuesday.

“We know that these steps will pave the way for us to rebuild the public’s trust and confidence in air travel, and we will continue to work closely with the national and local governments concerning these efforts,” added Shau.

Passengers bound for Bacolod are reminded to ensure their requirements are complete prior to the day of travel. Requirements may be easily viewed via https://bit.ly/CEBTravel-Docs .

CEB has attained 100% vaccination rate for its active flying crew through its very own employee vaccination program, JG Summit COVID Protect, and various partnerships with local government units in the country.

The airline has been rated 7/7 stars by airlineratings.com for its COVID-19 compliance as it continues to implement a multi-layered approach to safety, in accordance with global aviation standards. These include daily extensive cleaning and disinfection protocols for all aircraft and facilities, on top of its contactless flight procedures.
