21,800 doses of AstraZeneca arrives today

Bacolod City, Negros Occidental— A shipment of 21,800 of AstraZeneca vaccines allocated by the national government for Bacolod City arrived at the airport today, July 15, as confirmed by Bacolod City Public Information Office.

Dr. Edwin Miraflor Jr., OIC of the City Health Office, said that of these doses, 16,800 doses will be administered to vaccinees receiving their second dose, while 5,000 doses will be administered as either first or second doses.

As of July 14, the COVID-19 Vaccination Council (CoVaC), chaired by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, has vaccinated a total of 64,966 Bacolod residents- using Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines.

Of this total, 18,691 individuals were fully vaccinated or have received their first and second doses.

From March 2021 to today, Bacolod has received a total of 115,340 combined doses of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines from the national government.
