The Central Negros Electric Cooperative announces a scheduled power interruption on December 12 that will last for 12 hours.

In a statement CENECO said the scheduled outage is due to the activities that will be conducted by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) from 6AM-6PM.

This will affect a large portion of the downtown area, barangays Singcang Airport and Taculing.

While CENECO owns the distribution lines, the NGCP holds the Transmission, the statement said. Any occurrence that may happen in the transmission facilities is beyond CENECO’s control.

Electricity consumers are further advised that, in the event of any power interruption, electrical switch/es should be turned-off for safety reasons. When electricity supply resumes, CENECO reminds consumers to please provide allowance of about 10-15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surge.
