The city of Sipalay is the leading local government in Negros Occidental with the most number of drug-cleared barangays.
On November 5, 2020 during the 22nd Regional Oversight Committee on Dangerous Drugs – Western Visayas deliberation, Sipalay marked its 12th drug-cleared barangay out of the 17 barangays in the locality.
The active implementation of the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program is among the priorities of Mayor Maria Gina Lizares in her first term as the local chief executive.
Sipalay is the only LGU supported by the Provincial Government through Gov. Bong Lacson and ably assisted by Provincial CBRP Coordinator Hon. Juvy Pepello in the conduct of the sessions amid the pandemic.
In July, Sipalay successfully completed its second CBRP session and is set to conduct the 3rd session this month .
